Currently serving as the Newfoundland and Labrador Director of the ISA Atlantic Chapter, Taro Foley-Tanaka brings a unique perspective to the province. With a foundation in forest resource technologies, an ISA Arborist Certification (AT-0753A) and 7+ years in the industry, Taro Foley-Tanaka is a leading figure in Newfoundland and Labrador's arboriculture community. 

After completing the forest resources technician program at CNA, he gained valuable experience as a ground worker, a utility tree trimmer, and a residential arborist before advancing to his current position as a climbing arborist. Inspired by the vital role trees play in urban environments, Taro is committed to fostering a thriving urban forest in Newfoundland through education and awareness

With over 25 years of experience in the arboriculture industry, Keith is a highly skilled professional specializing in urban forest management, tree care, and arboriculture program development. He has extensive expertise in managing municipal tree programs, designing and implementing urban forest management plans, and conducting tree risk assessments.

Keith is a Certified Arborist and holds leadership roles in several industry organizations. He is a member of the National Arborist Apprenticeship Recognition Committee (NAARC) and a contributor to the Arborist Safe Work Practices (ASWP). Additionally, Keith has taught arboriculture and urban forestry at Fleming College, developing and delivering courses that align with current industry standards.

His comprehensive knowledge of arboriculture, combined with his practical experience in urban forestry management, positions him as a respected authority in the field. His dedication to advancing sustainable tree care practices ensures that urban communities and natural environments thrive together.

Joe Price is the Territory Manager – Atlantic Provinces for Oaks Landscape

Products, bringing over 35 years of experience in the landscape industry. Joe

started his career as a pool installer for his father’s business. He has worked as

a contractor, job site foreman installing commercial hardscapes, and sales

manager. Joe was among the first ICPI certified hardscape installers in Atlantic

Canada. And was actively involved in developing the first Certified Landscaper,

Paver Test Module. For the past 17 years, he has been the trusted

representative for Oaks Landscape Products, specializing in pavers, slabs, and

retaining walls. At this event, Joe will be sharing his expertise on Polymeric Sand, offering

insights gained from decades of hands-on industry experience.

Outside of work, Joe is an avid curler—he serves as President of the Wolfville

Curling Club and is co-chairing the host committee for the 2025 Olympic Pre-

Trials in Wolfville, NS.

Glenn has almost 40 years experience to draw from. He has taught ICP, PICP, SRW and PMB contractor certification courses throughout North America on behalf of ICPI and NCMA (now jointly CMHA).  His teaching objective is to not just outline industry best practices, but elaborate on how these best practices help ensure long term performance of the overall system.  He also introduces students to the newest and most innovative practices (e.g. roller tampers, falling head deflectometers, stabilized backfill), which can improve site productivity, easily verify compliance and create new opportunities.

Alan Dolick works as a technical sales representative at Evergreen Bio Innovations, a forward-thinking company specializing in natural solutions for lawn care, golf, and agriculture. In the past ten years, Alan has honed a strong interest in soil health and microbial populations. He believes that by improving plant nutrition and championing healthy soil, we can lessen our reliance on traditional inputs in the future. Boasting over two decades of experience in the golf and lawn care industry, Alan brings a unique perspective and a practical approach to incorporating regenerative principles into turf management.

Pat Moir is the Quebec & Atlantic Turf Specialist for Syngenta Professional Solutions, based out of Montreal, QC, where he is responsible for managing all golf and retail accounts from a technical and sales perspective. He has served in this role since 2020

Before joining Syngenta, Pat worked for 26 years in the role of Superintendent at Hillsdale Golf and Country Club, North of Montreal.  In his time at Hillsdale, Pat hosted many prestigious events such as the Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship and CN Women's Canadian Open. 

He is a past president of the Canadian Golf Course Superintendents Association and currently serves as director of the Quebec Turfgrass Research Foundation. 

Pat holds a Diploma in Agriculture, Turfgrass Management, from the University of Guelph. 

Pest Management Specialist, Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ms. Madore received her B.Sc (Honours.) in Environmental Studies in Agriculture from Dalhousie University jointly with the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (now Dalhousie Agriculture Campus). Ms. Madore has been the Pest Management Specialist with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for 15 years. Her areas of interest include insect collection and identification along with weed and disease identification in agricultural commodities. As Pest Management Specialist she has been involved in various research initiatives and integrated pest management projects helping to research pests in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Tim Murray is a fully-licensed Landscape Architect and the director and owner of Murray’s Landscape Services Ltd. Tim has over 20 years of work experience in the landscape design and construction industry since 2004 throughout the provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, and Newfoundland & Labrador on a range of projects including facility and industrial site, municipal parks, playgrounds, multi use trails, tourism, heritage, coastal landscapes and environmental remediation. Tim is fully licensed member in good standing with the Atlantic Provinces Association of Landscape Architects (APALA), The Ontario Association of Landscape Architect (OALA) and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA). 

Tim has served on the Canadian Landscape Standards Committee as Atlantic Canada CSLA Representative Since 2016.

Tara Ralph is the founder and principal designer at Canopy Landscape Design. She earned her degree in Landscape Architecture from Dalhousie University, holds diplomas in Horticulture from NSAC and the University of Guelph, and is a certified Red Seal Horticulturist. Tara combines a robust educational background with hands-on expertise with over 20 years of

experience in landscape design and more than 30 years in management and business

development to her work. Active in professional organizations such as APALA, CSLA, and AALD, Tara is committed to advancing the fields of landscape design and horticulture through her practice and ongoing professional development. Tara views her work as an extension of the land, harmonizing natural and built environments to create designs that integrate nature, architecture, and culture. Her strong focus on building meaningful relationships with her clients results in unique solutions, customer satisfaction, and long-term collaborations. Through her innovative designs and ecological approach, Tara continues to transform landscapes into sustainable, inspiring environments.
